Yes, I know she’s a fictional character, but Robin is far and away my favourite character in How I Met Your Mother (tough contest against Barney, but she just gets the title). I think I like her because I relate to her and want to be like her. She’s quite contradictory; she’s definitely tough and independent, but not ‘masculine’ (guns and cigars aside). She’s career driven, and ambitious.
It’s refreshing to have a woman on TV whose sole goal in life isn’t to get married and have babies. There are so few women on television who are openly child-free by choice, but still portrayed as ‘normal’ women. Go Robin for flying that flag.
Mostly though? I love Robin because she’s a bro. One of my favourite episodes is her bro’s night with Barney, where she suits up and plays laser tag like a true bro, proving that girls can be pretty awesome at that too, and make the best wing-men.
Plus she really knows the power of suiting up; trust me, it always goes down well.
And anyway, how can you not like a girl who can bust out moves like these?
I love Robin! She's a great character. Her Robin Sparkles days are my favorite flashbacks.
