I’ve got lots of little bitty things to share with you this evening. First up, I’ve been testing out all the goodies I got in my Rimmel goody bag at the Glam Media suite during Fashion Week. Right now, I’m wearing one of Rimmel’s new metal rush shades, in Pearly Queen. It’s really sheer, but so, so pretty. It bounces the light back in a really nice way, which kind of gives your nails an iridescent type effect. Gorgeous! I’m going to be wearing this shade a lot, I think.
I also finally got rid of my God-awful HTC phone. This beauty is a Nokia Lumia 800. The nice man in Phones 4 You sorted me out a fantastic deal to buy out my old contract so I could have this phone. I’ve been using it since Saturday, and so far, I am obsessed with it. You guys, I have a phone with enough memory to download apps and take pictures. I HAVE SNAKE ON MY PHONE AGAIN. SNAKE. I am delighted.
Come on, you knew I was going to write about this, right? Yes, on Monday, Muse’s new album, The 2nd Law, was released. I’d pre-ordered the boxset ages ago, but true to form, the Muse store have taken their sweet time sending them out, so I actually got mine today. I think some people are still waiting. It was worth the wait though. The box is filled with three prints, a vinyl version of the album, and a CD in a beautiful booklet with more images and pictures. I love this kind of thing; I’m a bit of a collector of Muse memorabilia, so this gorgeous set is a fantastic addition to my collection. I downloaded the album on Monday too, although I had already heard it on The Guardian’s live-stream. I’ll need a few more listens to really make my mind up, but so far, I’m really impressed. It’s ridiculous, over-the-top and utterly wonderful. It’s going to be immense live too, I’m sure. Stand-out tracks so far for me are Panic Station and Follow Me. I’m loving Save Me too, but mostly because I’m slightly in love with Chris Wolstenholme.
But the best news of all? I’ve saved the best for last, I promise. I had a special visitor at the weekend. I’ve not really talked about my personal life much over the last couple of months, but most of you will remember that I split up with my boyfriend about three months ago. The split was hard; it wasn’t what I wanted and I’ve been missing him so, so much. But now? Well, he was here all weekend, and after a lot of talking and more than a few tears from me…we’re back together. I’m blissful.
