London Fashion Week

So who wants to hear about my Fashion Week adventures?

Unfortunately, they didn’t begin in the best way! A mate gave me a lift up to London, but we caught in traffic on the M40, after an accident. Cue nervous clock-watching, and then a frantic dash across London, cursing tube train doors closing as I got to them and running up escalators. When I got to the Jasper Garvida show, the doors had already been closed. BUT, thanks to some confusion on the part of the venue staff, myself and another latecomer were directed through the backstage (hello sneak peak at the collection), and after bumping into Jasper himself, we were able to stand by the catwalk entrance, so saw the whole collection anyway. I wasn’t able to take any photos, but the collection was great, I thought. Lots of sequin detail, which I always enjoy!

The best part, though, came afterwards. After finding Fritha (Fish Tank Fashion), we found Harriet (Where is Harriet) and Hannah (Bow Dream Nation). The three of us headed over to Somerset House, which was an absolute sea of photographers and the fashionable (and the crazily dressed). We people watched for a while (spotted Kate Nash!) before deciding to invade the Glam Media suite.

Nobody seemed to know much about Glam Media. As far as I can work out, they work with various bloggers, and had provided a blogger lounge for them. However, it had become a general blogger hangout. We fell on the free food (I may have carried away supplies for the train home, but shush) and the free champagne.

The suite was packed, possibly because word had got round about the freebies. As well as the food and champagne, Rimmel were giving away goodybags. LOOK at what they had in them!

009013

- Rimmel Match Perfection in Shades Soft Beige (200) and Ivory (100).

They were foundation shade matching people. Apparently, I am between shades, and so get two shades to mix together. I’m yet to have a bash with these, but I’m not dedicated to a particular foundation so I’ll give it a go.

017

- Rimmel Instant Tan in Light, Wake Me Up Instant Radiance Shimmer Touch in Shimmering Sand and BB Cream in Light and Medium

I can’t see me using the instant tan (if it’s wash-off, what happens when it rains?), or the darker BB cream shade, but I will use the light shade and the shimmer.

019

- ScandalEyes Show Off Mascara in Black (001) and Waterproof Gel Liner in Aubergine (003) and Deep Blue (004)

Mascara is another product I’m yet to find the perfect brand for, so I’m pleased to have a new one to try. I’ve never used a gel liner, but this way I get to try without wasting money if I’m useless at putting it on (which I probably will be).

020

- ScandalEyes Waterproof Kohl in Bronze (012), Nude (005), Taupe (004), Purple (013), Black (001), Silver (010) and Bright Blue (014)

Soooooo many colours. This is gonna be fun to play with!

021

- 1000 Kisses Lip Tint + Balm in Kiss Me (510) and Faithful Rose (140)

I’ve actually used both of these already. The colours are nice, but I wouldn’t say they were mega long-lasting. I’ll use them, and they’re nice for free, but I’m not sure I’d bother buying them.

022023

- Kate Moss Lasting Finish Lipstick in 101, 107, 110, 111 and 113

I already have several of the Kate Moss lipsticks, so I’m delighted to have a load of the new ones. The nude doesn’t look like my sort of colour, but I’ll wear all the others, I’m sure.

025

- Precious Stones Nail Varnish in Ruby Crush (002) and Diamond Dust (001) and Metal Rush Nail Varnish in Gold Save The Queen (70), Royal Blue (60), Pearly Queen (100) and Purple Reign (80).

I am chuffed to bits with the nail varnishes. I had my nails done in the suite with Pearly Queen and Diamond Dust. I’ve also used Ruby Crush and am currently wearing Royal Blue. LOVE all the colours. Delighted.

All in all, my London Fashion Week day out was awesome. Fun road-trip with a friend, pretty clothes, nice blogger lovelies, free champagne and a bag load of free Rimmel stuff. If this is being a blogger, I want to do it forever.

  3. It was so lovely to meet you last week! I keep offering anyone who comes over to my flat free makeup as there is just no way I'm going to be able to use this much! It was such an awesome day though!

  4. Ha, tell me about it. My flat mate has got her eye on anything that was too dark a shade for me, and has kindly offered to 'help' test all the nail polish.

It was lovely to meet you too! Hopefully we'll be able to meet up again some time.

Wow. That's a super nice haul from Rimmel. I hope you share how you like the BB Cream-- I keep hearing about them but have yet to try one!
