Review: Maybelline Dream Satin Liquid Foundation

I make no claims of knowing what I’m talking about it when it comes to make-up. I just know what I like, and I quite like knowing what other people like too. I’m hoping you’re the same, as I’m going to inflict my views upon you.

I found myself in need of a new foundation. I’ve been using L’Oreal’s True Match Roll On for ages, and I do like it a lot, but I find I get through it pretty quickly. So it was time to try something new.

I opted for this, Maybelline Dream Satin Liquid, in shade 004 Light Porcelain.

Here it is in action. I find it goes on nicely, although it can take a bit of blending, but once you’ve got it on it looks nice. I need hardly any, just one pump, so I figure this should last ages, and it’s reasonably priced anyway. Hopefully, it’ll prove a bit of a bargain.

I like a light coverage, and this gives that. It looks natural, but I think it would be pretty easy to layer up if you like a more ‘made-up’ look. The colour is nice, I struggle with foundation as I’m pretty fair-skinned, but this shade is lovely, soft and not orangey in the slightest.

It’s not as long-lasting as my old L’Oreal one, but it stays put pretty well. I don’t find I’ve actually coated my mobile or anything, for example! I find it still looks pretty good after a few hours. It’s enough to get me through work, but I’d have to reapply if I was going out afterwards, whereas with the L’Oreal, I hardly needed to touch up.

Generally, I like it. The colour and coverage is good, the price is good, I think it’ll last a while, but I’m not convinced about it’s staying power.
